Because you are either low on oil, or your oil pressure is so bad it turns the light on when you come to an idle,
or the sensor is bad.
Check you oil first. My 1990 toyota corolla oil light goes on when i come to a stop why ?
Also could be worn out main bearingsMy 1990 toyota corolla oil light goes on when i come to a stop why ?
check you oil first.....if thats good...could be a sensor if you're lucky. when your at a stop the engine is turning it's slowest and naturqally so is the oil pump. It's possible the pump is weak or if you're not good at the regular oil changes...could be your engine is just plain tired /worn out
Could be that you need an oil sending unit. Or the oil is low. Or you have a leak.
My car does that every once in a while. I had the switch replaced but it still did it. I have a small leak coming from the front seal. But I found that putting a product called MOA made by a company called BG helped out a lot. It is hard to find but some garages sell it. And some autoparts stores sell it but few and far between.
Put a can of it in after an oil change. It only takes up about half a quart and it totally works.
