How can I stop oil coming through plaster from Denzo tape?

I recently had a new central heating system installed and the pipes were chased in to the wall. The plumbers merchants advised covering the pipes with Denzo tape to prevent any potential corrosion to the copper. The wall was then plastered and emumulsioned, but the oil from the Denzo tape keeps seeping through the paint.

I have tried covering in damp sealant, oil based gloss paint and several coats more of emmulsion and gradually the oil still seeps through and stains the wall.

Any suggesstions of how I can prevent this would be much appreciated.

try asking the plumber who told you to use that kind of tape. How can I stop oil coming through plaster from Denzo tape?
Denzo tape is a nightmare! It sounds like you have tried the oil based paints but how about lining paper, oil based undercoat for wood and see how it goes before puting the emulsion on? I would use the best lining paper you can get like Wallrock Fibre Liner..

Failing that, if its a small bit of wall then your last option is to get some plasterboard put up..
There is an alcohol based liquid containing shellac called';stopping';, it is painted over the area, and prevents further migration.

Bought in 1/2 pint bottles, it is easy to apply. and WORKS
