What could be cause for oil pressure fall when engine tempt reach nomal only happen when vehicle is at a stop?

i did oil pressure test the reading 50 to 60 at normal tempt also change the oil pressure swtich but still having problem the motor seem not using oil or water i wonder if the cluster is playing upWhat could be cause for oil pressure fall when engine tempt reach nomal only happen when vehicle is at a stop?
How much does it fall? It will drop some because the engine is not operating at a higher speed when at a stop, thus the oil pressure is lower. What could be cause for oil pressure fall when engine tempt reach nomal only happen when vehicle is at a stop?
I used to own a mercedes benz 190e that ran +3 bar oil pressure any time except at warm idle. At warm idle it could get as low as .3 bar, this is normal. When oil heats up, it gets thinner, flows easier, which takes stress off the motor allowing it to make more horsepower/torque while still having proper lubrication. Off idle, the engine is turning faster as is the oil pump, increasing flow and there by increasing oil pressure. If you want to increase the pressure at idle you can get a thicker oil, but be careful, you can get to thick of oil and destroy your motor. Now if oil pressure drops to zero, you have a internal engine problem, usually the bearings or the oil pump itself. You could have a oil analyst done to check for metal (i believe copper) to check the condition of the bearings.
Need to know how old and what kind of car. The oil viscosity ie 10 w 30 ? It is normal for the pressure to drop at idle after warming up the engine idle is slower and the oil is not being pumed as fast. as long as you do not go into the red zone on your gauge you should be ok. make sure you check the viscocity rating when you change oil. Using a engine flush product at the next oil change if the engine has more than 60 k miles is a good idea to clean sludge from the pump and viens.
there is a number of reasons it could be .. but two easy ones to check are clogged oil filter (when did you last change it) and or you have the wrong grade of oil .. like i said there are a few reasons beside these but at least these two are not expensive and easy to check
If it needs a tuneup, it may idle at a lower than normal speed due to power loss and thus not pump oil hard enough to keep the pressure up...

Best regards,

Mike
never use an engine flush product of any kind. all it does is loosen sludge and let it flow through the entire engine.
