Is there a certain kind of oil to use thats will stop smoke from coming out the tail pipe of my van?

If it runs good, I would go to Wal Mart and get a couple of bottles of the generic oil treatment, (or possibly No Smoke). If you add a bottle to the oil, it will help (unless the smoking is excessive). You can add a bottle about every two or three thousand miles (the bottle has to be warmed up so as to run out, as the viscosity of both treatments is about like molasses in January).

Edit : You cannot use straight STP. If it smokes a lot, you can try two bottles, but no more ( it is just way too thick and meant to be an additive only). Is there a certain kind of oil to use thats will stop smoke from coming out the tail pipe of my van?
first of all it could be water vapor

head gasket: symptoms coolant in oil oil in coolant burning coolant and oil

piston rings: burning oil from the oil sump

valve seals: it happens for a while when you start the car but when it wamrs up its gone

there is no oil; that stops that

uit could just be water vaporIs there a certain kind of oil to use thats will stop smoke from coming out the tail pipe of my van?
nothing will work those oil additives are all gimmicks. your engine is burning oil because it was neglected form lack of oil changes or hard running. the engine is toast the problem will only get worse and the engine will start to loose power and fuel economy. Time for an engine rebuild or another car.
There sure is, Drain the oil and fill it up with STP stuff is good and thick and slow to burn.
Are you serious, you have engine issues, there is no band aid for that. Try a can of CD2 but if it's alot of smoke it wont magically fix your oil problem.
The car is burning oil, possibly due to bad seals. Have it checked by a reputable mechanic. Having it repaired will stop the smoke from coming from your tailpipe.
Yeah, I think it's called wallet oil! You take it to a shop and open up your wallet and get the motor worked on.
