Its because its afraid of loosing its interests with AmericaHow long will it be until Saudi Arabia stop oil to America?
Maybe when biotech engineers enable Cargill, Archer Daniels and other ';green'; American firms to produce our transportation fuel needs from cornstalks and similar biomass, like Brazil does now from sugar cane. This is currently in work. Check the latest Forbes magazine for a great article on this.
I don't think that a total stoppage would occur. Saudi Arabia may be Israels #1 supporter, but don't forget who is the Middle Easts oil suppliers #1 supporter is. The USA.
They may try to influence our government by slowwing down the supply, but they would be foolish to completely cut us off.
Saudi Arabia will never stop the flow of oil as long as there is no change in the politics of Saudi Arabia. The Gov't. of S. Arabia needs the U.S. threat to ward off the islamists who want to change the country.
And as is going on in many countries, The U.S. is bolstering these semi fascist regimes to maintain a supply of black gold.
In the same sense, has anyone wondered why all the rhetoric against Hugo Chavez. They claim so, but it's not because of his internal policies, which is none of their business ( Chavez is a democratically elected president), it's because he.s a threat to their supply of oil from Venezuela and his influence in OPEC
