cost effectivenessIF we are really to stop dependancy on oil, then, why not require every new house to have solar panels on them
Keep hearing ';cost'; as the reason not to pursue solar power.
Dad paid $800 for a TV in 1949, today it would cost $89.
All technology is expensive until it has widespread use.
A simple hose on a roof can heat water before entering a water heater to save a fortune for much of the year. Report Abuse
Dick Cheney would never support solar power. That's money out of his pocket.
That would cost countless billions of dollars, also the majority of electric power is generated by Coal burning power plants.
Why not go one Step further and switch to Ethanol Fuel???
That would make it too easy! Then they would start taxing the amount of sunshine you get!
That would cost consumers to much money. Besides its hard enough now to afford a house.
And as for government programs, forget about it. Republicans don't like government programs let alone starting a new one.
Solar panels would never hit the market because Bush and Cheney are all oil guys. They would lose a ton of money if we actually switched to solar energy.
In case you didn't know, oil companies buy off politicians with under the table money and campaign contributions. When that politician gets elected than its payback time for the oil companies. Oil prices go up, alternative energy resources are crushed, and oil rich countries get invaded, (see Dick Cheney, George Bush and Haliburton).
