if its full of oil, then its more then likely your oil pump is going on the fritz. id go have it checked out as it is cheaper to replace the oil pump then the whole motor!!!2003 Doge Stratus the oil light comes on at stop light level is fine?
just a thought is it a hot engine light or oil light, cause sometimes they are combined and when you stop your engine isnt getting cooled by outside air. asimple check to see is put your heater on high and stop at a light or just stop if the light dont come on it could be your thermostat or water pump. if its not that get it put on a machine to see if it is more serious
I almost bought one awhile back...Did you check it out yourself or are you just going by what they tell you?? I would check the dipstick myself.. Also make sure from a professional, that the correct dipstick is in this engine. There has been cases where a wrong dipstick was used and gave a false reading.
I know u said it has regular services performed. But check the oil level, first, anyway.Check oil pressure with scanner. If u have one. If not than just install an oil Gage at the sending unit. If psi around 30 at idle OK. Replace sending unit.
could be a bad sending unit but I would have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge while your changing it
