Whether it was about oil in the 1st place or not is immaterial. That question should have been asked/answered before we went in. If the coalition leaves without the individual Iraqi citizen taking ownership of the Iraqi future, the 1st world economy is endangered as well as the planets health.





The people that don't have control over the oil fields will torch them. This makes sense both strategically %26amp; tactically. The controlling individuals could/would use some of the resources to buy weapons. Torching those wells would also contribute to global warming without benefiting anyone.





The capturing of 1 individual will not end the fighting. To have the illution indicates that no one else thinks. You don't even want to THINK about how high gas prices will be if we withdrawal precipitously and the insurgents take over this oil-rich nation....I agree things are a mess, but the world needs the free flow of that oil. In my opinion Australia needs to do some homework in their own back yard before taking pt shots at the US. I love the place been a hundred times as air crew. It seems a deflection from what they are up to on their own despite the efforts of other countries including their Mother country.
