Will a fiberglass patch stop an oil leak on bottom of the oil pan?

I have a truck with an old rusty oil pan. Its too hard to replace..the engine has to be lifted. The oil seeps through parts of the pan due to the rust. I have painted it with this rust preventive paint called POR-15. That actually worked to stop most of the leaking. There is still a couple small pin-hole leaks. Do you think it would work to put a fiberglass patch with fiberglass resin on the hole? The pan heats up when the engine is running, but its not extremely hot. I am out of the POR-15 and I don't feel like spending more money on it....its expensive. Thanks! Will a fiberglass patch stop an oil leak on bottom of the oil pan?

JB Weld works very well. Ive had my pin hole for a year, and the JB save me 300 bucks for a new pan or at least taking it off to braze the hole. A cheap and reliable fix.

Dr Antony
what you could do is clean the pan off really good and spread jb weld all over it, let it set up hard and refill the oil pan. but it sounds like you need a new pan.
You can try using fiberglass. They make epoxy resins that will stop your leaks, as long as the surface is clean when you apply them. Try something like J-B weld, and good luck.

Fiber glass will not stick to it due to the oil on the pan.
temporarily, yes...but as the oil keeps dripping, it will weaken the bond made by the resin and loosen the patch
