I have a 96 vw golf gl,and the oil light does not stop beeping. i check it all the time and its full?

when i hold the clutch and rev the beeping stops for a few seconds and sometimes up to a minuteI have a 96 vw golf gl,and the oil light does not stop beeping. i check it all the time and its full?
I feel is can be a false signal also. shorting of sensor wire wire the engine body.

Try to check oil is coming is the top cover of the engine (if there is a oil filler cap).

Also remove wire from the sensor on side of the engine and see that light has gone off. If it is still on then there is some other fault outside the engine.

Oil can be full but there might be failure on oil pump.which will damage the engine too too much with very very high cost.

If this light is actual signal then engine should be switched off immediately.

Don`t forget to connect the wire back to the sensor.I have a 96 vw golf gl,and the oil light does not stop beeping. i check it all the time and its full?
It could be the oil pressure switch or possibly the oil temp sensor. I'd say it's worth replacing both, since they're both very inexpensive.

could be that the pressure sensor is bad - and needs to be replaced
