What can we do to stop this oil from starving us out?

i know a lot of you on this site are younger than i, but, get your parents, grampa, grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins involved in, somehow, stopping this oil from going any higher. i am not kidding. with oil going up, many will lose their job. others will go hungrey b/c they will have to go short on food to get to work. still, some public assistance wont cover b/c of the rising cost, hence, the cost food rises b/c of the transportation of products. this is being close to getting scary. im not to computer savy, so, tell me where and/or to what forum i can go on to publish this. its not right and we cant stand for itWhat can we do to stop this oil from starving us out?
uh...it's a free market economy. It's all well and good to say ';stop it';; the only thing that will is to cut usage.

Supply and demandWhat can we do to stop this oil from starving us out?
Become conservative! If you do not mind spending your hard earned dollar on gasoline, higher costs of food, etc do not conserve.

Too many people want to do many things but so many are so lazy. Look at all those that are overweight!

We are out of shape! Walk , ride a bike, find a cheaper way to get to work. So many cars only have one person in them. Put five to a car and put less cars on the road! Someone will spend less for consumption!
Everyone complains, but until we start using less prices will be high. Try carpooling, riding a bile, or take a bus if available
How about Americans using less gas?

My family has cut our gas usage by at least 50% in the last 2 months. Basically, we stopped driving so much.

We go to town and shop a lot less and we carpool when we can. We budget a certain amount in cash for gas each month and when it's gone, it's gone.

If most Americans did this - changed their spending habits - it might make a huge difference.

Lowering prices won't fix one of the main problems - over consumption and high demand by Americans.

We have the power to decrease our consumption and we're not willing to make sacrifices.
This is the president's responsibilty. I don't see any leadership. It's like a race betweent he federal resever board to cut interest rates bu thtey can't cut them fast enough to counter act the rise in oil prices. it went from 122 to 134 per barllel in what period of time.

We cannot cut consumption fast enough to counter this. and all commodites are shipped by some form of pertolium Oil product.

There isno such thing as a completly ';free'; market economy. I dont know who sold you that crock.

The president is shwoing no leadershiip here. He is good at making war and keeping us militrily secure, but he has no end game.
I think there a mix of several answers is what needs to be done. I've heard many and tried some myself and supported others when I vote.

Things we can do:

1. Ride a bike or walk.

2. Carpool.

3. Live close to work.

4. Drive cars with good MPG.

5. Plan several stops in one drive and go out less.

Things that we can support.

1. Building of more refineries.

2. Oil exploration offshore.

3. Alaskan and midwest oil drilling.

4. Nuclear energy and coal.

5. Research into alternative fuel.

6. Other countries that like us in the creating of Ethanol.

7. Research into fuel efficiency.
