i have a vw and i found were an oil leak is coming from it is next /under the cap were u pour the oil in so on the side there is a plug kinda thing (that is were it leaks from) that has like a wire coming out of it and runs across to the other side almost by were the accelerator is at any idea what it is or how to stop the leak thxHelp with car oil leak and how to stop it?
The thing with the wire is the oil pressure sensor and they are notorious for leaking. If you can unscrew it and wrap some teflon tape arounf the thread and screw it back it may stop the leak. BUT the sensors themselves often leak so you may need a new one--just a few dollars.The wore is a push-on connector. It is also possible oil is coming up around the distributor right nearby. There is an inexpensive rubber ring on the distributor which can be replaced.Help with car oil leak and how to stop it?
Check to see if the plug is bad or if it is just not connected correctly.
