What's a good natural medicine to stop toenail fungus? I have tried tea tree oil with no results.?

Fungus infestations can refer to athlete's food. The most common cause of these infestations is the destruction of beneficial bacteria by antibiotics, drugs, or radiation, resulting in the takeover of undesirable fungi. Besides being taken as a drug, antibiotics often are found in the food supply because antibiotic supplements are given to animals as treatment for diseases and also as a food additive. People with any type of fungal infestation should establish an adequate diet, including generous amounts of the A, B, and C vitamins, raw fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and yogurt or acidophilus. Armoatherapy includes lavender, myrrh, patchouli, and tea tree. What's a good natural medicine to stop toenail fungus? I have tried tea tree oil with no results.?

Vick Vapor Rub..REALLY! It works.
Oddly enough, my mother-in-law just passed this odd bit of trivia to me a few weeks ago. She had the same problem and SWEARS by good ol' Vick's mentholated rub. The stuff mom rubbed all over us when we were sick years ago?

As I'm told, rub the Vick's on the surface of your toenails and under them too. I'd recommend socks until it soaks in! Hope it works for you...it worked for her.
A fungal culture will show whether a fungal nail infection is present and what type of fungus it is. A fungal culture is typically done when a diagnosis is unclear or when treatment of a fungal infection has not been successful. If uncommon fungi are identified, the infection can then be treated with different medication. To get rid of a fungal nail infection you will usually have to take tablets, sometimes for up to six months. Fingernail infections tend to clear up quicker than toenail infections. You may only need to take tablets for six weeks for a fingernail infection. You'll probably need to have a sample of nail sent to the laboratory for tests to make sure you have a fungal infection. The tablets can sometimes damage your liver (though this is rare) and you may have a test to check your liver is healthy before starting treatment. There are also creams, lotions and varnishes for infected nails. But normally doctors recommend tablets for this condition, although nail varnish might be prescribed if the infection is mild. If your nail infection doesn't bother you, you may wish to leave it alone.

Treatments that are likely to work:-

Fluconazole tablets (brand name Diflucan): These are antifungal tablets. They treat infections caused by a fungus. But fluconazole isn't usually given to people with nail infections.

Treatments that need further study

Griseofulvin tablets (brand name Grisovin): Griseofulvin is an antibiotic and doesn't work as well as some other tablets against fungal infections.

Ketoconazole tablets (brand name Nizoral): Ketoconazole is an antifungal drug that isn't used very often because it can cause liver damage.

Creams, lotions and varnishes:- These include amorolfine (brand names Loceryl and Curanail) and tioconazole (Trosyl).

Many plants have natural antifungal properties. For example: Neem tree, tea tree, red thyme, lemon oil. These properties help plants, particularly those native to the humid Tropics, protect themselves against fungal invasion and disease. These essential oils, help eliminate nail fungus with none of the dangerous side effects seen in conventional medications and they have been tested in medical labs and proven effective to kill fungus infections. Herbal preparations are best used as early as possible where their preventative qualities help to manage long term recurring infections. Customer testimonials do report effective and satisfactory treatment. It can help some people to change their diet. This is worth considering especially if you have suffered from other fungal infections such as candida, vaginitis or jock itch. Avoid bread and yeast products (including beer). Some people have found taking supplements to be helpful in boosting the immune system.

Acidophilus- Take yogurt with live cultures or acidophilus capsules.

Beta Carotene- 25,000 IU of beta carotene.

Garlic- To boost the immune system and ward off fungal infections, take 6-8 capsules of garlic daily.

Vitamin B-complex -Take tablets daily.

Vitamin C -Take 500-3,000 mg of vitamin C in divided doses.

Vitamin D and E -Take 400 IU each of vitamins D and E.

Zinc -Take 15-50 mg of zinc. More than 15 mg of zinc should not be taken for more than a week or so without medical supervision as it may interfere with absorption of other minerals.

Hope this is of interest and assistance
