Will people ever stop going on about the US not invading Saudi Arabia-post 9/11?Truth is they have lots of oil

and America needs it. The whole world economy would collapse without it. Now we wouldnt want to disrupt that relationship would we?Will people ever stop going on about the US not invading Saudi Arabia-post 9/11?Truth is they have lots of oil
Sure we would ! if we could get by with it!Will people ever stop going on about the US not invading Saudi Arabia-post 9/11?Truth is they have lots of oil
You're completely mistaken.

The outcry is over why hasn't the US captured or killed Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. They are the ones responsible for 9-11.

A ';relationship';only exists when all parties involved get something out of it, to their mutual benefit.

The only ones benefitting from this ';relationship'; is Saudi Arabia and Big Oil. The only reason Big Oil is still in the relationship is because of the obscene profits generated, as well as S.A.'s royal promises to not Nationalize the Oil Industry, as Iran did (even though Arabian oil is, in fact ';Federalized';, the Kings in charge of it have promised to continue to sell it [at their price]- for the immediate future, at least).

And the worldwide consumer, is he and she benefitting from this ';relationship';? Well, let's see.

We are forced, due to urban sprawl and, at least in the US, the stupid idea that your car is your independance, to buy, own and maintain a car. We have been forced to buy a product which uses a dangerous and highly explosive (not to mention noxious and poisonous and FINITE) fuel source, the product is made so badly (on purpose), the average life expectancy of a $35,000 auto in the US is 5 years or less; and actually, like razors with disposable blades, Detroit could GIVE the cars away, the cars are only the means they use to force you to continuously purchase gasoline to keep the cars running.

Thousands die each year in car accidents. Oil spills and oilpump fires destroy, or permanently damage fragile ecosystems. The pollutants formed from imperfectly converting hydrocarbon mass to energy in millions of cars everyday kill hundreds of young, old and sick people each year. Some days are so bad in major metropolitan areas, city governments are forced to broadcast smog alerts, warning their residents to avoid breathing the air anymore than is absolutely necessary.

Not to mention the fact that, if the planet does not begin to wean itself off the Petroleum Teat RIGHT NOW, by finding alternate ways to heat, cool and transport ourselves and our goods, when there IS no petroleum left, we will be back in the Stone Age, as no petroleum also means no PLASTICS of any kind. No grocery bags, but that doesn't matter as there will be no groceries (fertilizers are made with petroleum products too). No way to keep meat cold, so we go back to salt curing meat to keep it. No way to keep warm in very cold climates, so mass migrations (and the attendant deaths) will be made every 4 months, to farm in the temperate areas and move temporarily live in the not too hot, not too cold areas.

But who cares, right? That's a problem for our great-grandchildren to deal with. Of course, WE will be dead and gone; but your children's children (I have none) will curse your names for our wasteful ways. But again who cares? Keep driving your Hummers (another image which comes to mind is Nero playing his violin while Rome burned).

As far as S.A. goes, most of the hijackers were from S.A., most of the money which financed their attacks came from S.A., and the Bush government cares so much about the families of the victims of Sept 11, the UNITED STATES Justice Dept blocked the families from suing the families of the S.A. terrorists.

Kinda makes you wonder who our President really works for.

He'll send BILLIONS in aid money to Iraq for re-building and what not, losing hundreds of millions in the process, but to bail out US mortgage holders, the people who VOTED Bush into office? Not one thin dime of help. Again, just who does Bush WORK for again?
