Do oil companies really believe we are stupid? Will we ever stop getting screwed at the pumps?

Nope, just keep bending over. What was ExxonMobil's profit last year? $38 billion?Do oil companies really believe we are stupid? Will we ever stop getting screwed at the pumps?
They don't think we are stupid, they KNOW we don't have much choice in the matter. They are not regulated anymore, ( They used to be ). As long as we have this Administration in power at the White House, we are putty in their hands, or dollars in their pockets.Do oil companies really believe we are stupid? Will we ever stop getting screwed at the pumps?
Thank Bush for it all hahahahaha...but to answer your question: no, they do not think we are stupid--we are the consumers, and secondly, we won't always be screwed at the pumps because we will nationally switch to hybridization and such..................
Its simple supply vs. demand. We really are stupid if you think about, most people are extremely dumb when it comes to money.
Prices are a mechanism to control a scarce resource. We think the oil companies make large profits and they do. However, much of the money comes back into the economy via different ways. They spend the money and keeps some in the bank. most are actaully not very bright when it comes to dealing with the economy.
The goverment is making all the money. Oil companies keep 10 cents on the gallon.
Fact is petroleum is getting scarcer. There is nowhere for prices to go but up, over the next decade or so. The USA and Australia still have relatively cheap fuel by world standards. Even at US$5.00 per US gallon it would be cheaper than many European prices now.
YES. NO.
Big Oil's got to make money too. Don't forget that some of the refineries are down and the mess in the Middle East. Get a smaller, more fuel efficient car. I drive a '99 Cavalier that gets about 26 mpg
