i had just picked up my vw 2003 passat at the body shop(where they were making repairs to the front of the car after someone crashed into me) and i was leaving the parking lot i got the STOP ENGINE OIL PRESSURE warning. I took it to a mechanic and he just changed the oil and said everything should be fine. The warning still comes on sometimes but now the engine light turns on and the car starts to shake. What could be the problem? Could it be something they did at the body shop?I have a VW Passat03 %26amp; the STOP ENGINE OIL PRESSURE wont turn off,the engine light is on and the car is shaky?
The idle speed sounds like it is too low. It may be also a vacuum hose leak and your engine is sucking more air than it should. Get the mechanic to look at both(unless of course your ';mechanic'; is only capable of changing oil - then he shouldn't be the one looking) Body shop wouldn't even touch the engine. Not their department.I have a VW Passat03 %26amp; the STOP ENGINE OIL PRESSURE wont turn off,the engine light is on and the car is shaky?
Engine size? 1.8 turbo? 1.8T have this problem quite regularly. You need to have the oil pressure checked. The oil pump pick up screens on this motor have a problem with clogging up. Low oil pressure will cause cam time problems, causing the check engine light to come on also. Don't drive this until you sort this out! Getting hit may have knocked lose some gunk, causing the clog.
should have bought American. that's what you get.
