use RTV black silicone, put a bead of this around the valve cover and let it set for 10 minutes then put the valve covers on. Also be sure and take a stretched out clothes hanger and clean out the oil return holes in each end of the head. Change the valve cover gasket. Its easy. If I can do it you can.
But it could be a warped valve cover. Do you have any noticeable dents? How much oil is leaking? Do you have oil in your spark plugs? How to stop oil leak from 1984 chevy 350 valve covers?
damn man i would get that thing professionaly check out. i know the older chevys are mint but i think you might want to get it looked at by a garage. take it easy have a nice day buddy
Your aren't going to stop the leak, all you can do is replace the valve cover gaskets- use rubber ones if they are available- make sure the surfaces the valve cover seals on are clean and oil free.
You might try CAREFULLY tightening the bolts. They are small so don't overdo it. if that don't help you need to replace the gaskets.
first use electrical tape and after that you use alot of duck tape

put new valve cover gaskets on it.
Sell it and buy a new car!!1
